The ICSEI business office is now located at the Gonski Institute for Education at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. The Gonski Institute focusses on addressing growing inequality in Australian education as well as improving access for students to high-quality education wherever they may go to school. Its Director is Professor Adrian Piccoli (former NSW Minister of Education) and its Foundation Professor of Education Policy is Pasi Sahlberg, who is also a member of the ICSEI Board. We engaged in a collaboration with the Gonski Institute for multiple reasons. There is a strong alignment between the aims and mission of both organizations. Both organizations focus on addressing inequality in education and improving the quality of education. Both organizations focus on improving education through research, policy, and practice. We actively seek collaboration opportunities to enhance international educational research, school effectiveness, policy making and system change. We are going to work together to identify ways of improving education around the world, such as through the provision of professional learning services, and through organizing events to disseminate our knowledge. Together we can help support the learning of our students around the world.
ICSEI’s partnership with the GIE was officially announced at its 2019 congress in Stavanger, Norway.
